Healthy Babies Project Spring 2009 Health Fair

On Saturday, April 11 from 12:00pm until 4:00pm Healthy Babies Project held its Spring Health Fair. Although it was a rainy day family, friends and clients of HBP still came out to support the event. It is estimated that approximately 120 adults and children attended the event. Each family that came received an Easter Basket filled with healthy (some not so healthy) goodies, toys and prizes.

Children were kept busy with an Easter Egg race (3 years old to 6 years old) and an Easter Egg toss (7 years old to 10 years old). The Easter Bunny made a special appearance and passed out crayons, coloring books and toys to all the good little boys and girls. When the rain did stop the children ran out and played and jumped on the obstacle course moonbounce until its operator had to shut it down and deflate it to get them off and some still kept jumping.

Parents were occupied with all the vendors who were in attendance. Present at the Health Fair was JobCorp, Family Health and Birth Center, Kool Smiles, Unison, S.O.M.E., Break the Cycle, Howard School of Speech Pathology (who did early childhood screenings) and Healthy Babies provided carbon monoxide testing, HIV testing and blood pressure screenings.

Everybody who attended was treated to a healthy lunch of grilled chicken dogs, chips, juice fresh whole fruit and veggies.
A great time was had by all who attended.
